Job summary

The New Jersey School Boards Association seeks a Director of Content to lead and guide the Content team, oversee Field Service Representatives, Professional Learning Staff, the CACs, Workshop Team and STEAM Tank programs, and to drive content strategy and execution.

This exempt, full-time role reports to the Senior Director of Content and requires exceptional communication, instructional design experience, and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, with some remote

Qualifications

• Exceptional communication across in-person, online, and electronic platforms.
• Experience supervising and evaluating professional staff.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple constituents in a professional manner.
• Effective consultative skills including problem identification, analysis, and resolution.
• Detail-oriented, motivated, creative, and organized, with the ability to execute projects on tight deadlines.
• Experience in instructional design, implementation, and evaluation for virtual professional development.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Previous service as an effective Field Service Representative highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of charter school governance is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; knowledge of public education and school board governance.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends and ability to work from home.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor FSRs, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance and professional development.
• Monitor project/program development and performance metrics, preparing reports and updates to the director as needed.
• Work with the director to sustain, expand, and grow departmental services and goals.
• Assist in establishing and analyzing budgets, expenses, and financial metrics.
• Collaborate with other departments to foster cross-functional teamwork and communication.
• Assist in the training and onboarding of new staff members to ensure smooth integration with the Content team.
• Develop, present, and market NJSBA at county school boards association meetings, workshops, conferences and other programs as needed.
• Develop and deliver effective presentations to membership, staff, and groups outside the Association as needed.
• Assist with Workshop programs as needed.
• Serve as representative on various external task forces and committees, as necessary.
• As needed, fill in for the Senior Director of Content and provide reports and update(s) at NJSBA Board of Directors and Executive Committee meetings.
• As needed, attend the semi-annual Delegate Assemblies; Draft resolution write-up for resolutions as requested.
• Available to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
