Position Overview
The Director of Construction is responsible forestablishing, implementing, andmaintainingWestside Build’s quality control systems across all active projects. This role ensures every home meets our architectural intent, performance standards, and client expectations — from foundation through final walk. You Will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, trade partners, and the Design team to drive first-passinspections,reduce rework, and uphold best-in-class craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project-specific Quality Control (QC) plans and inspection protocols
- Conduct routine site inspections to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and building codes
- Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents to proactivelyidentifyand resolve quality risks
- Establish standardized checklists and milestone-based quality audits
- Track and report quality metrics, rework trends, and root-cause analysis
- Coordinate third-party inspections and ensuretimelycorrection of deficiencies
- Ensure trade partners adhere to workmanship standards and scope requirements
- Lead pre-drywall, pre-finish, and final completion quality reviews
- Develop, implement, and administer the QC Plan following theUSACEthree phases of control.
- Ensure all project personnel and subcontractors understand andcomply withthe QC requirements.
- Certify that all submittalsare in compliance withcontract requirements.
- Review plans and specifications to ensure requirements are met for each construction process.
- Complete necessary inspection reports and documentation.
- Inspect and evaluate the adequacy of work performed by craft, staff, and subcontractors;Identifynonconformities, analyze root causes, and take corrective measures.
- Reviewdaily paperwork such as reports, log updates, and email.
- Understand and apply federal, state, and local policies, laws, and regulations.
- Establish andmaintaineffective working relationships.
- Manage andmonitorrequired testing.
- Conduct pre-final/final inspections;reviewestablishpunch list;and,ensure all deficiencies are corrected.
- Conduct and attend QC meetings.
- Maintain andsubmitas-builts on finished projects.
- Prepare documentation for each definable feature of work in their area of responsibility; Distribute written inspection/test results to appropriate personnel/agencies.
- Ability to organize tasks and work efficiently without direct supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum5 years of experiencein construction quality control, project management, or field supervision
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Strong knowledge of customresidentialconstruction methods and materialsisa must
- Ability to read and interpret full sets of architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- Deep understanding of California building codes and inspection processes
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination abilities

Preferred Experience
- Experience in high-end or design-forward residential projects
- Familiarity with prefabrication or offsite construction methodologies
- Experience implementing quality management systems or SOP frameworks
Software & Tools
Must havea proficientexperience withProcore,Bluebeam Revu,Microsoft Excel,PlanGrid (or similar field management tools)andBIM coordination tools (Revit/Navisworks familiarity a plus)
