Job summary

Westside Build LLC, a Santa Monica–based design and construction firm, seeks a Residential Project Architect to lead BIM development in Revit and produce permit-ready sets for single-family projects. You will coordinate with structural, MEP, and civil consultants, manage documentation, and ensure quality across milestones.

Qualifications

• Professional architecture degree (B.Arch and/or M.Arch).
• Experience leading a team on complex residential projects.
• Experience with permit-ready sets and permitting in LA County.
• Strong Revit BIM modeling and construction documentation skills.
• Willingness for on-site visits as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead BIM models and construction documentation in Revit for residential projects, aligning with milestones.
• Coordinate internal teams and external consultants (structural, MEP, civil) to maintain coordinated BIM models.
• Produce permit-ready documentation and construction sets with code reviews and revisions.
• Perform QA/QC on drawings and models to ensure consistency with standards and project requirements.
• Work with Managing Principal on office standards and deployment.
• Support project delivery through RFI responses, submittals, and construction administration tasks.
• Mentor and manage junior staff and foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
• Maintain schedule adherence and contribute to overall project delivery success.

As a Residential Project Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of residential rebuilding efforts. You will lead the development of BIM models and construction documentation, ensuring projects meet the highest standards of accuracy and quality. Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the creation and management of BIM models and construction documentation in Revit for residential projects, ensuring alignment with project milestones.
• Coordinate internal teams and external consultants (structural, MEP, civil) to integrate drawings, resolve clashes, and maintain coordinated BIM models.
• Produce and oversee permit-ready documentation and construction sets, incorporating code compliance reviews and design revisions.
• Perform QA/QC on drawings and models to ensure consistency with company standards, best practices, and project requirements before submissions.
• Work with Managing Principal with developing office standards anddeploying.
• Support project delivery through RFI responses, submittals, and construction administration tasks.
• Mentor & manage junior staff and foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
• Maintain schedule adherence and contribute to the overall success of project delivery.

Required Qualifications:

• Professional architecture degree (B.Arch and/or M.Arch)
• Experience managing a team
• 11-14 years of professional architectural experience with at least 5 years focused on residential architecture
• Advanced proficiency in Revit for BIM model development and construction documentation
• Experience with custom single-family homes, ADUs, and residential rebuilds
• Experience producing permit-ready residential construction document sets and supporting permitting in LA County
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods and detailing
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Willing and able to perform as-needed on-site jobsite visits

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Bluebeam and Procore
• Licensed Architect in California
• On track for California architect licensure

Salary range for role is $90,000 - $125,000 depending on experience
