Job summary

Camden County College invites applications for Teaching Administrator/Director of Computer Programs at Blackwood Campus. The role reports to the Dean of Math, Science & Health Careers and provides academic and administrative leadership for Computer Science, CIS, MIS, Cybersecurity, and Computer Systems Technology programs.

The position requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Doctoral preferred) and a minimum of three years of credit/non-credit college teaching

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field; Doctoral degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of credit/non-credit collegiate teaching experience in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management of Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or Computer Systems Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a total of 18 contact hours per year.
  • Conduct classes as scheduled; process grades; start class on time and maintain full scheduled time.
  • Provide students with syllabus detailing requirements, attendance, grading policy, objectives, and outline.
  • Retain credit course documentation for at least three years after course completion.
  • Observe the approved Departmental Master Syllabi.
  • Teach courses in the appropriate computer field.
  • Oversee development and revision of courses to stay current.
  • Maintain classroom hardware and software; ensure readiness.
  • Coordinate integration of industry credentials into programs.
  • Work with OIT and faculty to keep software/hardware current.
  • Budget coordination including Perkins spending.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire adjunct faculty.
  • Maintain Fall/Spring/Summer Master Schedules; manage times/locations/instructors.
  • Coordinate textbook selection.
  • Obtain/maintain program accreditation/certification.
  • Attend Chairs/Coordinators and Department meetings.
  • Coordinate syllabi with measurable objectives; ensure current content.
  • Coordinate course and program development and assessment activities.
  • Advise students on academic/professional matters; assist with registration issues.
  • Coordinate Academic Program Review for all programs.
  • Assemble advisory board; hold at least two meetings annually; keep attendance/minutes.
  • Supervise student workers and part-time staff.
  • Participate in in-service, orientation, and commencement activities.
  • Comply with safety, fire, and smoking regulations; complete mandatory compliance training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Doctoral degree preferred
