Job summary

Vesper Energy in Albuquerque, NM, seeks a Director, Assistant Controller to lead accounting and financial reporting for its solar and energy storage portfolio, including monthly close, consolidation, and internal controls.

You will own accounting for complex structures such as tax equity partnerships and joint ventures, ensure ASC 810 compliance, mentor teams, and partner with FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with public accounting and industry experience preferred.
• Experience in renewable energy or project finance considered highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close for corporate and project entities under U.S. GAAP.
• Own accounting for tax equity partnerships, joint ventures, and minority interests; ensure ASC 810 consolidation guidance.
• Direct technical accounting research for significant transactions and partner with external advisors and auditors.
• Manage annual and interim financial statement audits; strengthen internal controls and remediation.
