Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management or related field with 5 years’ experience in recreational programming and supervision.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving history.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience providing the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Directs the planning, implementation and administration of all Recreation programs for the County, including all sports programming.
• Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
• Plans and coordinates department operating and capital budget; coordinates fundraisers and tournaments to maximize revenue; prepares expenditure reports and activities reports.
• Interacts with citizens to develop adequate programming and provides technical assistance to participants and parents.
• Attends meetings, issues news releases, and serves as liaison to organizations; implements programs per approved plans and funding.
