We provide educators with the tools, resources, and supports to build and continuously improve strong and responsive systems—through investments in curriculum, technology, student planning tools, and innovative college and career preparatory programs.

What You’ll Do

New Visions seeks a Communications Director to lead the strategic vision, development and execution of a modern, high‑impact communications program that advances the organization’s mission, visibility, and fundraising goals. The Communications Director will manage a team of 2–4 team members in developing and implementing an organization‑wide communications strategy to bring New Visions’s mission and programs to life for all stakeholder groups. This will include:

  • Partnering with program and development teams to surface stories of innovation and impact
  • Helping teams express complex work in accessible, human language through compelling content creation
  • Establishing and analyzing performance metrics to guide communications decisions
  • Defining key audiences, messages, and goals across platforms
  • Leading the organization’s social media strategy
  • Collaborating with influencers, partners, and thought leaders to expand reach and engagement
  • Producing organizational materials such as annual reports, newsletters, and website content
  • Supporting leadership with key message frameworks, talking points, and preparation for media interviews and public appearances
Who You Are

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished writer, digital storyteller, and strategist who can distill complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with educators, families, civic leaders, and donors. They will bring both creativity and discipline – building the systems, strategies, and storytelling capacity to amplify New Visions’s work across channels. Minimum eligibility requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 8–10 years of professional experience in communications, public affairs, or related roles
  • Experience within education, public policy, or a mission‑driven organization preferred
