Job summary

WeShare Health is seeking a Director of Public Relations to build and lead our PR function. Reporting to the VP of Marketing Communications, you will shape processes, tools, and playbooks powering earned media and thought leadership.

The ideal candidate brings consumer and healthcare PR experience to engage a broad media and stakeholder landscape, including healthcare trade press, regional and national consumer media, and business outlets, to advance our mission.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive PR or communications experience.
• Track record of securing earned media in national, regional, and trade publications.
• Strong writing skills, able to mirror different executive voices.
• Experience managing PR agencies or consultants.
• Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment without direct authority.
• Builder's mindset and a positive, team-player orientation.

Responsibilities

• Develop pitch strategies and story angles for meaningful coverage across healthcare media.
• Identify news cycles and opportunities to insert WeShare Health into conversations.
• Write and manage content across blogs, LinkedIn, executive bylines, and internal comms.
• Support crisis communications planning and response.
• Maintain PR infrastructure: editorial calendars, media databases, coverage tracking, messaging frameworks, and agency management protocols.
• Co-create KPIs and reporting linking coverage to business impact.

About the Role

The Director of Public Relations is a hands‑on builder who helps create WeShare Health's PR function. Reporting to the VP of Marketing Communications, you will help build and run the processes, tools, and playbooks that power our earned media and thought leadership programs.

The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of consumer and healthcare PR experience with the versatility to engage a diverse media and stakeholder landscape: healthcare trade press, regional and national consumer media, and business outlets, on behalf of a mission that genuinely matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop pitch strategies and story angles that generate meaningful coverage across healthcare trade, business, and regional and national consumer media
• Identify news cycles, policy developments, and white-space opportunities to insert WeShare Health into relevant conversations
• Write and manage content across blogs, LinkedIn, executive bylines, and internal communications
• Support crisis communications planning and response
• Activate and maintain PR infrastructure: editorial calendars, media databases, coverage tracking, messaging frameworks, and agency management protocols
• Co-create KPIs and reporting that connect coverage, share of voice, and sentiment to business impact
