Job summary

Samsung Ads seeks a seasoned Director of Communications to lead B2B PR strategies for its services business and executive leadership. This role reports to the Head of Marketing and collaborates with the ads product and sales teams to support new products and partnerships.

The candidate will direct strategic initiatives, set KPIs, monitor press coverage, and manage a PR agency while coordinating cross-functional teams. NYC office-based role with deep ad tech knowledge.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in PR/communications.
  • Residence in the tri-state area with ability to work from the NYC office.

Responsibilities

  • Direct strategic B2B initiatives to promote Samsung Ads leadership and portfolio to clients, agencies and industry members.
  • Set annual KPIs and track progress to drive YoY growth.
  • Monitor press coverage and industry news in the CTV/ad tech space.
  • Plan, coordinate and lead cross-team PR strategy updates and results.
  • Draft executive keynotes, press announcements and quotes.
  • Refresh press pitches, messaging docs, media lists and event databases.
  • Coordinate stakeholder approvals across teams and partners.
  • Maintain a database of press assets and images.
  • Support brand-consistent marketing comms via social, email, and internal comms.
  • Align product messaging with marketing leads for press materials.
  • Partner with creative to develop media kits and visuals.
  • Foster relationships with reporters in ad tech press.
  • Manage quarterly announcement calendars and speaking opportunities.
  • Provide leadership coaching to enhance presentation effectiveness.
  • Develop crisis communications and risk plans with Corporate Communications & Privacy.
  • Manage external PR agency and vendor contracts with the legal/ops teams.
  • Contribute updates to MarComm reports and decks.
  • Collaborate with analytics to extract performance metrics and craft narratives.

This role will elevate Samsung Ads in the industry and promote the sellable solutions that allow advertisers to reach their most important audiences.

The Director of Communications for Samsung Ads will develop and execute comprehensive B2B communications strategies for Samsung’s services business and executive leadership. This individual will report into the Head of Marketing to support all key new products and solutions for Samsung Ads as well as key partnerships. This role will work closely with the Ads product team and sales organization to support business objectives.

This communications leader will:

  • Direct strategic B2B initiatives to promote Samsung Ads leadership position and innovative portfolio of Ads solutions to clients, agencies and industry members.
  • Set key performance metrics on an annual basis and diligently track ongoing progress, with the goal of accelerating meaningful growth YoY.
  • Monitor daily press coverage for Samsung Ads and stay apprised of relevant industry news and innovations in the CTV sector.
  • Plan, coordinate and lead meetings across various teams to share PR strategies, updates and results.
  • Draft executive keynotes, press announcements, executive quotes, blogposts and more.
  • Continually refresh foundational materials including press pitches, master messaging documents, media lists, industry event databases, briefing books and award opportunities.
  • Gather internal and external stakeholder approvals across multiple internal teams and third party partners.
  • Maintain and organize a database of all press assets and images for easy access
  • Support marketing communications for brand consistency via social media channels, email/newsletter distribution, as well as internal employee communications.
  • Align with product marketing leads on product messaging and key talking points to include in press materials.
  • Partner with the creative director to develop rich media kits (press images, videos, logos).
  • Foster strong relationships with key reporters across the ad tech press.
  • Maintain quarterly announcement calendars for all PR initiatives.
  • Increase visibility for senior leadership by identifying, securing and executing speaking opportunities, background briefings, and 1:1 interviews.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to the leadership team to enhance communication and presentation effectiveness.
  • Develop crisis communications and risk mitigation plans in collaboration with Corporate Communications & Privacy.
  • Manage external PR agency, lead weekly calls, procure information, review all deliverables, and share updates with content & product marketing leads.
  • Manage vendor contracts in collaboration with the legal team and operations lead.
  • Contribute updates to weekly MarComm reports & ad hoc decks.
  • Work with the analytics team to source relevant performance metrics and craft a narrative around those numbers.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience in PR/communications with a deep knowledge of ad tech. Agency experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Residence in the tri-state area with the ability to work from the NYC office regularly.
  • Proven track record for developing and executing comprehensive PR strategies.
  • Extensive understanding of the CTV landscape and advertising platforms.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Executive presence, with the ability to influence and provide counsel to leadership.
  • Experience creating and presenting strategy plans and recap decks to track performance towards goals. Must have proficiency in deck creation and design.
  • Experience with risk mitigation, privacy and corporate reputation management.
  • Foundational knowledge in other communications channels, including social media and email.

  • Strong PR acumen and the ability to instinctually make strategic decisions.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priority projects at once without sacrificing quality or attention to detail.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to draft compelling and polished materials. Must have eagle eyes for grammar, syntax, punctuation and spelling when proofing written documents.

Salary Range Pay Transparency: Compensation for this role, for candidates based in New York City, NY is expected to be between $200,000 and $250,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
