Universal Health Services seeks a Director of Social Services to lead the Aurora Pavilion Behavioral Health Social Services team at Aiken Regional Medical Centers in Aiken, SC. The role directs social work, therapy planning, discharge coordination and compliance across inpatient and outpatient services.

The candidate will oversee scheduling, training, hiring and supervision, act as liaison with families and therapists, and ensure CMS standards and documentation are met while supporting patient

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or CMHC required.
• Minimum 5–8 years of supervisory experience in inpatient/outpatient behavioral health setting.
• State licensure required (LMSW, LISW, LPC, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Oversee Social Services team and discipline-specific planning.
• Coordinate scheduling, payroll, hiring, training, and performance reviews.
• Liaise between therapists, patients, families and discharge planning.
• Ensure adherence to CMS documentation standards and compliance.
• Manage patient case management and court/involuntary commitment processes.
• Provide clinical supervision for interns and staff and ensure 7-day therapy coverage.

The 62-bed facility, located on the campus of Aiken Regional Medical Centers, is accredited by The Joint Commission. The Director of Social Services is responsible for complete oversight of the Social Services team with Aurora. Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of Social Work, therapy planning, maintain compliance in all aspects, serve as a liaison between therapist, patients, patient families, discharge and other staff. Provides administrative and supervision for all Social Services staff regarding scheduling, training, hiring, disciplinary action, etc.. Provides clinical services and support assessment, discharge, and nursing as needed.

1. Manages all aspects for outpatient and inpatient services, including scheduling, payroll, hiring, orientation, training, data tracking and trending
2. Assists Administrator in operational duties and provide daily/weekly/monthly reporting
3. Serves as a patient and family liaison with therapist and patient advocacy
4. Coordinates all aspects of patient case management. Address issues and concerns from patients, patient families and staff. Responsible for Court and involuntary commitment in reference to DE and Court dates.
5. Supervises cognitive behavioral therapies. Responsible for providing therapy coverage 7 days per week and maintain compliance and development for inpatient services.
6. Work with assessment, discharge and nursing to coordinate flow of patients. Provides back-up call for Assessment staff.
7. Policy and Procedure development and review for facility and CMS Documentation standards. Responsible for oversight of Friendly data tracking and input
8. Facilitates process groups and education groups.
9. Ensures charges are documented.
10. Oversight with referring and receiving community agencies such as Aiken Senior Life and Lyft Transportation
11. Communicates with referral sources to ensure satisfaction and coordination of care.
12. Ensures collection, review and incorporation of customer feedback to improve services.
13. PHP/IOP Development and identification of inpatient step-down. Oversee treatment teams and data input. Monthly chart auditing review and reporting.
14. Provide clinical supervision for interns, inpatient and outpatient staff.
15. On-call for administration required.
16. Other duties as needed.
