Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this position manages patient imaging sites and/or specified hospital imaging locations, in order to meet quality, productivity, and financial goals; manages selection, training, development and evaluation of all operations and related support staff; ensures optimal work environment for ARC physicians and staff; ensures appropriate facilities, equipment, and other required resources are available to support service delivery goals at the lowest possible cost.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Planning
  • Provides information to physicians and assistance to colleagues responsible for assessment of current and future needs of patients, referring physicians, the practice and clients
  • Provides information to physicians and assistance to colleagues responsible for development and evaluation of alternatives to meet those needs, including cost/benefit analyses of alternatives
  • Recommending appropriate action plans
  • Assists with implementation and monitoring of results of approved action plans on agreed timetable and budget
  • Staffing
  • Determines appropriate staffing levels for clinical staff team(s)
  • Selects, orients, guides, develops and evaluates all site supervisors and department managers and other direct reports
  • Recommends overall evaluations, salary actions, training opportunities for staff based on job performance and practice needs
  • Ensures effective employee relations through appropriate communication, problem resolution and recognition programs.
  • Management of Imaging Offices and Hospital Imaging Department:
  • Leads by example, demonstrating highest standards of professional competence, commitment to the practice, and creativity
  • Works with physicians, senior adminstrators, and Chief Executive Officer to define standards of excellence and quality for all services; ensures that standards are met at a reasonable cost
  • Works effectively to avoid and/or eliminate any potential for patient or referring physician dissatisfaction; when complaints occur, responds immediately to investigate and resolve the situation to the complainant’s satisfaction and to develop and implement plans to prevent similar complaints in the future
  • Ensures that compliance with all accreditations, regulatory and policy requirements, including employee and patient health and safety
  • Researches alternative vendors for products and services required, after approval of recommendations, executes contracts and monitors compliance with terms to achieve expected service levels at lowest possible cost; manages vendor relationships to ensure productive, positive interactions and required results
  • Ensures the highest level of patient satisfaction based upon Press Ganey or other survey tools and meets or exceeds company defined goals.
  • Works with hospital clients to adhere to all contractual obligations
  • Financial Management:
  • Prepares accurate financial analyses and forecasts; manages within approved levels
  • Ensures that all financial goals are accomplished
  • Ensure adherence to annual budgets and performance standards

  • Collaboration with other Directors and Managers to accomplish organizational and contractual goals:

Knowled Ge, Skills And Abilities

  • Proven ability to plan, manage and evaluate delivery of complex medical and related support services to achieve high standards of quality, patient satisfaction, and productivity at reasonable costs.
  • Working knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques pertaining to Radiologic Sciences to direct and evaluate technical staff.
  • Thorough knowledge of radiology equipment and testing to determine needs and evaluate equipment for purchase. Knowledge of safety requirements to provide instructions and to prevent, recognize and correct hazardous conditions. Working knowledge of technology solutions for effective support of clinical and related services.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, vendors, and the public; solid record of building high performance, high morale employee teams.
  • Excellent financial management skills, including budget preparation, reporting and management.
  • Proven ability to gather and analyze significant data and to make recommendations for action based on analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, both orally and in writing and to negotiate to achieve “win-win” results for all concerned.
  • Demonstrated creativity, high energy and results oriented approach to management and leadership.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, EPIC EMR and Sectra PACS.
  • Knowledge of FDA, ACR, MQSA, NRC, JCAHO regulatory standards.
