Job Description Summary

The Director of Clinical Operations will oversee the supervisors in the direct patient care areas of the hospital: Imaging, Operating Room / Central Supply (operations, not inventory/purchasing), Anesthesia, Nursing, and Field Service. The overarching goals for these areas are clinical excellence and operational efficiency. Position is located at New Bolton Center, Widener Large Animal Hospital, in Kennett Square, Pa.

Job Description

The successful candidate should have extensive management experience and a focus on process improvement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures delivery of excellent patient care in the clinical service areas of the hospital through over-site of supervisors in these areas.
  • Engages in process improvement aimed at operational efficiency in clinical patient areas, specifically aimed at patient safety and throughput, while balancing the missions of research and teaching.
  • Serves as a resource for professional development of supervisors overseeing patient care areas; assisting with growth in the areas of personnel management and development and feedback.
  • Identifies infrastructural issues that impact patient care and patient and employee safety.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and 5 to 7 years or Master of Science, Master of Arts, and 3 to 5 of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Extensive management experience, and a focus on continuous improvement is preferred.
