Job summary

New York University seeks a Director of Clinical Informatics and Information Technology to lead SHC technology strategy, align clinical operations with NYU IT, and oversee EHR architecture, cybersecurity, data analytics and clinical systems.

This role manages nine direct reports, partners with hospital and university leaders, and drives safe, equitable care across NYU's health network.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, health informatics, information systems, data science, or related field.
10+ years of leadership in health information technology, clinical informatics, or comparable technology functions in a complex, regulated environment.
Leadership and development of multidisciplinary technology teams and managers, including goal setting, coaching, performance management, workforce planning, and staff development.
Proven SME for EHR clinical architecture, workflow design and optimization, and clinical decision support.
Governance of complex, interdisciplinary programs or portfolios involving clinicians, administrators, technology professionals, vendors, and senior leaders.
Leadership experience in related healthcare or higher education environments.
Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) and system integration.
Professional certification in health informatics, HIM, PM/ITSM, cybersecurity, or cloud tech.
Experience establishing governance for advanced analytics or predictive models in clinical or regulated environments.
Technical proficiency with programming, analytics, ML, or HPC environments.

Responsibilities

Lead Clinical Informatics and Information Technology aligned with NYU's strategy.
Oversee EHR architecture, clinical applications, data analytics, security practices, and regulatory compliance.
Partner with SHC and NYU IT leadership across budgets, HR, and governance.
Establish scalable governance for analytics, AI, and data use in clinical settings.
Mentor nine direct reports and build a high-performing, service-oriented team.
