Description du poste

Our client is seeking a Director of Clinical Informatics to join their team.

Job Title: Director of Clinical Informatics Location: Glendale, Wisconsin (primary office). Remote work is available with on-site presence expected three to four days per week for local employees; higher priority is given to candidates residing in the Milwaukee area. Greater flexibility may be offered for highly qualified candidates living outside of Wisconsin.

What's the Job?
  • Lead, monitor, and train a Clinical Informatics (CI) team of 16 informatics experts supporting 10 hospitals, with approximately 90% of focus on inpatient hospital environments rather than ambulatory clinics.
  • Drive Epic optimization and end-user adoption, acting as a change agent during workflow improvements and AI integration efforts.
  • Serve as an executive-level partner to clinical leadership, including Chief Nursing Officers and Chief Medical Officers, and act as backup to leadership when needed.
  • Oversee high-priority clinical informatics projects by setting daily priorities, resolving complex or sensitive issues, and coordinating resources to achieve strategic goals.
  • Facilitate workgroups for design options, competency validation, scenario/test script development, and user acceptance review support to ensure safe, effective implementations.
What's Needed?
  • Extensive Epic experience in implementation, optimization, and adoption, with a foundational understanding of Epic configurations and clinical workflows (day-to-day technical work is not required).
  • Director-level leadership experience managing teams and operations, including leading through significant workflow changes and technological transitions.
  • Clinical background preferred (such as nursing or pharmacy) to strengthen partnership with clinicians, though it is not strictly required.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic medical records and the ability to navigate EMRs (Epic), including understanding of data collected and used in clinical settings.
  • Experience with healthcare/clinical terminologies and code sets used in measure value sets, including SNOMED CT™, LOINC, ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT4/HCPCS, RxNorm, CVX, and other relevant code systems.
What's in it for me?

Opportunity to lead a sizable CI team and directly influence inpatient workflow optimization and adoption outcomes. Chance to partner with executive clinical leadership and strengthen patient care, patient safety, user satisfaction, clinical productivity, and quality outcomes. Motivating interim leadership role with potential to transition into a permanent position if the fit is right. Structured project timeline beginning as a three-month contract intended to fill a vacancy, with the possibility of longer-term continuity. Engagement in high-priority Epic optimization and clinical informatics initiatives across multiple hospital locations.
