Our Risk Solutions division has a full-time opening for a Director of Claims Services and Claims Counsel. This position provides leadership to internal claim consultants and external vendors in developing service delivery models to ensure quality service to our members. Salary Range: $185,000 to $210,000

Duties

1. Manage all aspects of the claim department: Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, develop goals in leadership, professional development, team building, customer relations, problem resolution, process improvement, and establish customer service standards. Offer leadership and counsel to claim representatives for the Student Accident Plan.
2. Participate in claim mediations of high-profile liability claims: Collaborate with Counsel to represent the Risk Pooling Trust in negotiations, aiming to contain losses and reduce claim reserves. Provide monthly activity reports and demonstrate the success of mediation efforts.
3. Manage vendor activities: Oversee vendor performance, conduct quality assurance audits, and participate in negotiations for vendor contracts and RFP processes.
4. Respond to complaints regarding claim service: Address member and claimant complaints professionally and promptly.
5. Coverage document management: Maintain the RPT Coverage Document, ensuring its accuracy and updating it as needed.
6. Provide quarterly status reports on large losses: Identify losses over $500,000, and prepare narratives for senior management.
