Job Summary

Working as the Catering Sales Director, you will coordinate and oversee all internal and external catering events. Responsibilities include menu development, costing, marketing, labor and food cost control, event preparation, transportation, setup, operation, and clean-up. You will also handle Event Coordination and Sales Financials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire, train, and develop managers; enhance service techniques, menu presentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Create reports on operating statements and budgets; review receivables collection.
  • Plan and direct catering activities and events.
  • Draft proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation procedures, including HACCP standards.
  • Maintain client database and vendor relationships.
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Monitor budgets and financial targets.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven success in meeting sales goals.
  • Strong knowledge of current food trends and fine dining service.
  • 5-8 years of hospitality experience, including 3 years in catering sales.
  • Supervisory, scheduling, training, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to assess client needs and ensure satisfaction.
  • Experience in menu proposal writing with chefs.
  • Supervision of food prep, service, and cleanup.
  • Knowledge of A/V equipment setup and breakdown.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership, organization, adaptability, and attention to detail.
  • Advanced computer skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proactive, calm under pressure, ethical, and customer-focused.
