Job Description

The Catering Services Director is responsible for planning and leading the entire catering operation across multiple units or in a large account. The Catering Services Director will oversee the Catering team, plan, and execute catering orders and special events. Additionally, they will manage budgets and financial goals of the department.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate total catering operations including booking events, supervising teams, developing, selecting, and costing menus, pricing, hiring, and departmental administration
  • Ensure proper preparation, service, and cleanup for multiple catering operations
  • Develop and implement catering solutions to meet customer needs
  • Maintain effective client and customer relationships
  • Create and execute an annual marketing plan for catering, including collateral, sales strategies, and budgets
  • Establish service and presentation standards and ensure compliance and consistency
  • Introduce new services to support business growth and client retention
  • Stay informed on current catering trends and advise clients and staff accordingly
  • Facilitate delivery of food from banquet event orders
  • Participate in sales, contract negotiations, and event planning with clients
  • Train and lead catering staff to uphold standards
  • Set and achieve sales, food, and labor targets
  • Manage catering events of various sizes, including staffing and execution
  • Handle financial reporting of catering revenue, expenses, and receivables
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, occupational, and environmental policies

Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of experience
  • 1-3 years in a management role
  • Experience in events and catering required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Availability for event-based hours
  • Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications as required

This role may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing. Uniforms and/or PPE may be required.
