Job description

We are seeking an energetic, highly motivated and detail-oriented business leader to take the helm of our catering sales team. Are you excited about working in hospitality at a hotel located in Downtown Dallas with 326 beautifully appointed guest rooms and over 40,000 square feet of versatile meeting space?

Who this job will appeal to: A seasoned catering professional looking to lead a team. The director is responsible for planning and leading the catering sales team across the Westin Dallas Downtown. The Director of Catering Sales will be responsible for the financial performance of the catering department, will engage in active selling strategies to solicit and close local, group, and association business.

What you will be doing:

  1. Provide day-to-day leadership to the property catering sales team.
  2. Manage and direct the on-property catering sales managers to achieve hotel revenue goals by proactively targeting current and new high-value accounts in the market and implementing effective catering sales deployment strategies to grow market share.
  3. Interact effectively with guests/clients, sales and kitchen, vendors, competitors, local community, catering associations, and other hotel departments to monitor guest satisfaction.
  4. Manage the hotel's catering sales efforts, including local and group/convention business.
  5. Solicit/book local catering business and develop group business.
  6. Develop and manage catering sales revenue and operation budgets, monitor adherence to space release guidelines, and provide forecasting reports.
  7. This position reports to the General Manager and partners with the Director of Sales.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  1. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred.
  2. Two to four years of hotel catering sales experience or employment in a related position or field. Leadership experience is required.
  3. Marriott Consolidate Inventory (CI) experience a plus!
