The Missouri Athletic Club is seeking an experienced Director of Catering to lead our catering and event operations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with extensive hospitality experience, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for creating exceptional events and member experiences. This will be a full-time position. Hours will vary based on business needs.
Lead and develop the catering team while maintaining exceptional service standards.
Oversee the planning and execution of weddings, banquets, meetings, luncheons, and other social events.
Work directly with members and clients to coordinate event details and ensure a seamless experience.
Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage team on menus, pricing, staffing, and event execution.
Oversee event budgets, billing, labor, and other operational needs.
Conduct BEO meetings and coordinate event details across departments.
Build strong relationships with members and clients while identifying opportunities to grow catering and event business.
Maintain high standards for event quality, presentation, and overall guest satisfaction.
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
Three or more years of catering, event, or hospitality experience, including management or supervisory experience.
Private club or upscale hospitality experience preferred.
Club Management Association of America (CMAA) membership preferred.
Certified Wedding Planner (CWP) certification preferred.
Strong leadership and team development skills.
Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities.
Knowledge of catering operations, event planning, budgeting, and banquet service.
Ability to build strong relationships with members, clients, and internal teams.
Professional demeanor with a commitment to exceptional service.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
