Job summary

CSUMB is seeking a Director of Career Education to advance career readiness across campus. You will lead a team of career educators, coaching professionals, and peer advisors, collaborating with faculty and partners to align career initiatives with learning outcomes.

You will design scalable instructional strategies, drive embedded career outcomes, and oversee the implementation of EAB/Navigate workflows, campaigns, and student engagement plans to improve internships and employment readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, higher education, human resources, or a relevant field.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in career education, career coaching, or related areas.
• One to three years of staff supervision, team leadership, or program management experience.
• Experience teaching or facilitating career development courses, workshops, or curriculum-based instruction.
• Demonstrated collaboration with faculty, academic departments, and campus partners.
• Knowledge of the student career development lifecycle, internship prep, and career readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of career educators, career coaching staff, and related personnel.
• Provide strategic leadership for career education initiatives and Navigate workflows.
• Develop assessment practices and service standards to support continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to integrate career readiness into curricula.
• Design, deliver, and evaluate career education workshops and instructional content.
