Position Overview

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC), a nationally recognized quaternary care center and flagship cardiovascular hospital within RWJBarnabas Health, is seeking an accomplishedCardiac Electrophysiologistto serve asDirector of Cardiac Electrophysiology and The Arrhythmia Center. This is a key leadership opportunity for a physician with a passion forcomplex EP procedures, including ventricular tachycardia (VT) ablation, academic medicine, and program development.

The Director will build and lead a high-performing team atNBIMCandThe Arrhythmia Center, which also provides EP services across the region toTrinitas Regional Medical CenterandRWJ Rahway University Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provideclinical and administrative leadershipfor Cardiac Electrophysiology services at NBIMC and affiliated hospitals.
  • Perform a wide range of electrophysiologic procedures withparticular expertise in complex VT ablation, atrial fibrillation ablation, and device implantation.
  • Direct the growth and integration ofThe Arrhythmia Center, enhancing regional access to advanced EP care.
  • Foster a culture of excellence inteaching, mentorship, and academic engagement, working closely with cardiology fellows and residents.
  • Lead and participate inquality improvement, clinical innovation, and research efforts.
  • Collaborate with advanced heart failure, imaging, interventional, and cardiac surgical teams to deliver comprehensive, multidisciplinary care.
  • Guide strategic planning for EP services, including resource allocation, technology acquisition, and faculty recruitment.
  • Ensure high standards of care aligned with national guidelines and accreditation requirements.
  • Position NBIMC as the leader in electrophysiology services throughout the state.
  • Lead NBI’s ACGME-accredited clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship and provide mentorship to faculty and trainees.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certified inCardiologyandClinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
  • Demonstratedexpertise in VT ablationand complex arrhythmia management.
  • Proven leadership experience in an academic or high-volume clinical EP setting.
  • Strong interest inteaching, clinical research, and academic leadership.
  • Eligible formedical licensure in New Jersey.
  • Commitment to advancing equitable and high-quality cardiovascular care.
