Qualifications

• Five years of professional development and/or fundraising experience, preferably in higher education.
• Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience / training.
• Advanced knowledge of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques.
• Advanced written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including political acumen, to secure gifts.
• Advanced organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills with strong project management.
• Very strong skills in maintaining confidentiality.
• Ability to prepare complex and detailed proposals and related materials.
• Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Salesforce or a comparable donor/prospect database system.

Responsibilities

• Lead development programs for UCI Health within the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and other cancer-adjacent areas.
• Secure private philanthropic investments to support identified cancer-related programs.
• Collaborate with the Senior Executive Director of Development and University Advancement colleagues to meet fundraising metrics.
• Prepare proposals and related materials for donor engagements and impact reporting.
