Job summary

Valley of the Sun JCC in Scottsdale, AZ seeks a Director of Camp Services to lead all camp experiences, including Shemesh Summer Camp and seasonal programs. You will report to the COO and drive visionary, safe, inclusive, and innovative camps aligned with the organization's mission.

You will oversee operations, budgeting, risk management, marketing, enrollment growth, and regulatory compliance. Strong leadership, collaboration, and customer-experience focus are essential for this flagship

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field required.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in camp administration, youth development, recreation, or similar programs.
• Minimum three years supervising professional and seasonal staff.
• Experience managing budgets and achieving financial goals.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership for all camp experiences at Valley of the Sun JCC.
• Oversee program development, staff recruitment, budgeting, risk management, marketing, enrollment growth, regulatory compliance, and customer experience.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure camp remains a flagship program and strengthens community engagement.
• Act as primary ambassador for camp, fostering relationships with families, staff, and partners.
• Direct all aspects of camp operations including facilities, transportation, scheduling, and equipment.
• Design engaging, developmentally appropriate, mission-driven camp programming.
• Foster an inclusive environment and adapt programs for diverse abilities and backgrounds.
• Mentor and lead Camp Directors, Coordinators, Office Staff, and Camp Counselors.
• Partner with HR on hiring, onboarding, compliance, and performance management.
• Ensure safety, health records, incident reporting, and emergency procedures are maintained.
