Job summary

Taylor University is seeking a Director of the Calling and Career Office to provide strategic leadership in vocation formation and career development for students. The role oversees staff, manages the Good Work program, and builds connections with alumni, employers, and faculty.

You will guide career advising, assessment, and workforce readiness, and report on outcomes while advancing opportunities for student employment and experiential learning.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree is required.
  • 2–5 years in higher education or student development.
  • Experience in career development preferred.
  • Ability to lead change and innovate.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide vision and leadership for vocation formation programs to help students discern their calling.
  • Direct career development initiatives, including career advising, resume/cover letter reviews, and mock interviews.
  • Manage and develop the Good Work Student Employment Initiative and associated personnel.
  • Supervise CCO staff and oversee the CCO Intern program.
  • Lead assessment efforts, including the Annual Report and First Destinations Report.
  • Facilitate career development workshops, classroom presentations, and individual advising on job search strategies.
  • Develop relationships with alumni, faculty, parents, and employers to expand student internship and employment opportunities.
  • Represent Taylor University and the CCO at consortium meetings, conferences, and within the business world.
  • Serve on academic committees and participate in institutional strategic planning.
  • Oversee staff hiring, professional development, and manage operational and budgetary aspects of the CCO.

The Position:

The Director of the Calling and Career Office (CCO) provides strategic leadership in vocation formation and career development for Taylor University students. This role oversees CCO staff, manages the Good Work Student Employment program, and fosters connections between students, alumni, employers, and faculty to support career readiness and calling discernment.

Qualifications:
  • A mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, with the ability to affirm and practice the Life Together Covenant and Foundational Documents.
  • Master’s degree is required.
  • A minimum of two years to five years of experience in higher education or student development is required.
  • Preferred experience in career development and working in the for-profit world.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives and a commitment to innovation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional and interpersonal approach.
  • Ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to mentor students and lead collaborative teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Salary & Benefits:
  • $68,000 - $80,000
