Job summary

Ellaway Blues Consulting is seeking an experienced Director of Design & Drafting to lead a CAD team and drive excellence in configuration management, drafting, and documentation processes within a fast-paced energy solutions environment.

The role focuses on coordinating CAD activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to align on quality and efficiency. A strong leadership presence and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in CAD and configuration management within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Proficiency with Creo and Windchill PLM/PDM systems.
• Strong knowledge of BOM management and engineering change processes.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Must be fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• U.S. work authorization required (no visa sponsorship).
• Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate CAD activities for complex rotating equipment.
• Oversee models and drawings using Creo and Windchill PLM/PDM.
• Ensure CAD designs comply with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage Bills of Material (BOMs) to align with specs and quality standards.
• Support ECRNs and NCRs from creation through execution.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and quality teams.
• Provide leadership, technical guidance, and mentoring to CAD team.
