Description

As a Director of Business Development, your primary responsibility is to drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and converting leads into customers. You will play a crucial role in expanding the company's market presence, meeting sales targets, and contributing to overall business success. This role will be reporting to the VP of Business Development building our 3PL footprint. The ideal candidate will have experience selling warehouse space and logistics services and a keen understanding of warehousing and logistics.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Identify and research potential clients and markets.
  • Generate leads through various channels such as cold calling, email outreach, networking events, and social media platforms.
  • Utilize sales and marketing tools to identify and qualify prospects.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with prospects, key decision-makers, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations to showcase the company's offerings.
  • Understand clients' needs, challenges, and objectives to propose tailored solutions.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve targets and maximize revenue.
  • Manage sales pipelines efficiently, from lead generation to closure.
  • Track and report on sales metrics, activities, and outcomes using CRM systems.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Overcome objections and address concerns to facilitate deal closure.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and delivery processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
  • Provide feedback to the marketing and product teams to refine offerings and improve market positioning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications and Skills needed:

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong networking abilities and relationship-building skills.
  • Goal-oriented mindset with a drive to exceed targets and deliver results.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales tools.
  • 2 years of experience in 3PL and Warehousing selling experience.
