Director of Business Development (Part-Time/ Full-Time, Commission Only)

With a diverse team of creatives and experts, we produce original, inventive, and thought-provoking content and events that spark conversations, foster empathy and drive positive change in the realm of mental and emotional health.

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Business Development Director to join our team on a part-time or full-time commission-only basis. In this role, you will be responsible for driving our “Production Services” business growth through lead generation, strategic partnerships, client acquisitions, and revenue generation opportunities, specifically with consumer brands. You have an existing rolodex of brand relationships and are a self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial mindset, excellent communication skills, knowledge of and familiarity with digital content creation, experience with sales, and a passion for mental health advocacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage existing brand relationships to identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations with The Shift.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, industry partners, and influencers.
  • Create and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business objectives.
  • Liaison and support negotiations of contracts, proposals, and agreements with clients and partners.
  • Collaborate with the production team to tailor offerings and solutions to meet client needs.
  • Stay abreast of mental health, tech and digital media industry trends, market developments, and activities of other companies and institutions in the mental health and impact media space.
Qualifications
  • Successful track record in business development, sales, or related role around production services.
  • Strong network of contacts within medium to large brands in the consumer product, tech, retail, medical spaces and otherwise.
  • Strong network of contacts in the behavioral and mental health space, including mental health professionals, healthcare companies, educators, institutions, and nonprofits.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial remote environment.
  • Passion for mental health advocacy and storytelling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field (preferred, but not required).
