Eliot Unitarian Universalist Chapel in Missouri is seeking a Director of Business Administration to lead financial, administrative, HR and facilities operations. The role reports to the Lead Minister and coordinates with the Board of Trustees and committees to uphold the church’s mission.
The DBA will oversee systems, policies and controls, and supervise the admin staff while collaborating with volunteers and lay leadership to ensure ethical and efficient operations.

The Director of Business Administration (DBA) is a member of the senior staff team and serves as an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees. The position provides leadership and oversight for the financial, administrative, human resources, facilities, technology, and business operations of Eliot Unitarian Universalist Chapel. The DBA is supervised by the Lead Minister and supervises the administrative assistant/communications specialist.
Working collaboratively with the Lead Minister, Staff, Board of Trustees, committees, teams, and lay leaders, the Director ensures that the congregation’s operational and business affairs are conducted effectively, efficiently, ethically, and in support of its mission. The position combines hands-on administration with organizational leadership and is responsible for maintaining effective systems, policies, financial controls, and operational practices across the congregation.
The DBA is responsible for the work of the volunteers in the Building and Grounds Team, the Property Development Team, the Bergfried Team (our 580 acre property in rural Missouri), the Pledge Drive Team, the Memorial Garden Team, Special Events and Rentals. The DBA represents the Lead Minister as the ex-officio of the Finance Committee.
The DBA must be a good team player with the ability to work with a variety of volunteers. This position functions like the connective tissue of the organization. Strong relationship and communication skills are a must.
