Job summary

The New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance seeks a highly motivated leader to head the Division of Banking. Reporting to the Commissioner and nominated by the Governor, the Director supervises all state functions related to banking supervision and regulation, ensuring safe and sound operations and protecting consumers.

Qualifications

• 15 years of experience in banking industry regulation, internal audit or compliance.
• Strong leadership skills with ability to manage distributed teams across multiple workstreams.
• Experience driving process improvements and customer-service initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inspections, examinations and regulatory filings to protect consumers and ensure safe operations.
• Regulate non-bank financial institutions including consumer finance, money service businesses, mortgages.
• Supervise operations of state-chartered depository institutions and review banking applications.
• Represent the department externally and manage relationships with regulators and industry groups.
