Job summary

I Can Do That Performing Arts Center in Danville, CA, is seeking an Education Director to lead and grow its educational programming for youth and the community. The role oversees classes, camps, workshops, and new programs from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with ICDT!’s mission and standards.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of program development experience, strong curriculum knowledge, and proven leadership in managing teaching artists, volunteers, and operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in educational program development and management
• Bachelor’s degree in education, arts administration, performing arts, or related field; Master’s preferred
• Experience developing programs from concept through evaluation
• Strong curriculum development and instructional strategies knowledge
• Experience recruiting, hiring, and evaluating teachers or teaching artists
• Excellent organizational and project management skills across multiple programs and priorities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, teachers, leadership, and stakeholders
• Ability to substitute for classes/productions when needed
• Commitment to ICDT!’s mission and DEI initiatives

Responsibilities

• Lead development and evolution of classes, camps, workshops, and other educational programming
• Take new programming from concept through curriculum development, scheduling, staffing, communication, launch, and evaluation
• Develop new programming based on student interests and community needs
• Coordinate staffing, space, resources, and materials for programs
• Support class and camp planning, communication, and meetings
• Substitute for ICDT! classes or productions when needed
• Recruit, hire, and train teaching artists and volunteers
• Observe classes and provide feedback to support teaching quality
• Oversee program evaluation, enrollment, and quality
• Manage Education Department budget in collaboration with Leadership Team
• Align programming calendars with Artistic and Operations teams
• Participate in DEI efforts and promote inclusion
