Job Title: Director of Application Security

Location: Remote (U.S. based)

About the Role

A global technology leader in the travel and services industry is seeking a Director of Application Security to lead its application security program across cloud, DevSecOps, and AI/ML initiatives. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role driving modern security practices across a global development organization.

What You’ll Do

• Lead application security strategy for cloud-native environments (AWS and Azure)
• Embed security controls into DevOps processes and CI/CD pipelines
• Build secure frameworks for AI/ML features and integrations
• Manage global vulnerability management and penetration testing programs
• Oversee a distributed team and four security managers (Cloud, Pen Test, DevSecOps, Vulnerability Mgmt)
• Drive automation of security assessments and compliance documentation
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and executive stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years in application security leadership, with a strong cloud security focus
• Expertise in AWS security tools (IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, etc.); Azure is a plus
• Hands-on experience integrating security in CI/CD, Terraform, Kubernetes
• Familiarity with AI/ML security practices, including AWS Bedrock or Anthropic
• Strong experience with security tools: Snyk, Checkmarx, Wiz, Prisma Cloud
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills
• Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, etc.) preferred
