SALT Dental Partners is seeking a Director of Application Management to lead the implementation, optimization, and lifecycle management of Practice Management Systems across our network of practices. You will drive digital transformation, partner with executives on technology investments, and ensure reliable, compliant PMS operations.

The role requires 10+ years in healthcare IT with leadership experience and strong knowledge of Denticon, Cloud 9, and DSN Cloud, plus expertise in RCM workflows

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in healthcare IT with 5+ years in leadership roles.
  • Experience implementing and optimizing PMS platforms (Denticon, Cloud 9, DSN Cloud).
  • Strong RCM workflows knowledge and HIPAA/SOC 2 familiarity.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-site rollouts and technology pilots.

Job Summary

The Director of Application Management is a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing the implementation, optimization, and lifecycle management of Practice Management Systems (PMS)—including Denticon, Cloud 9, and DSN Cloud—and all related ancillary applications. This role ensures seamless integration, reliability, and scalability of technology across the organization while driving innovation through pilots and transformational projects. Reporting to the SVP of IT, this leader will shape the application strategy to support clinical, operational, and revenue cycle excellence across a multi-site DSO environment.

Essential Functions
  • Define and execute the application management roadmap aligned with organizational goals and IT strategy.
  • Serve as a technology innovation leader, identifying emerging solutions and leading pilots for digital transformation initiatives (AI, automation, patient engagement, analytics).
  • Partner with executive leadership to evaluate and prioritize technology investments that improve efficiency, compliance, and patient experience.
Operational & Strategic Leadership:
  • Define and execute the application management roadmap aligned with organizational goals and IT strategy.
  • Serve as a technology innovation leader, identifying emerging solutions and leading pilots for digital transformation initiatives (AI, automation, patient engagement, analytics).
  • Partner with executive leadership to evaluate and prioritize technology investments that improve efficiency, compliance, and patient experience.
Application Implementation & Optimization
  • Oversee end-to-end PMS deployments (Denticon, Cloud 9, DSN Cloud), including planning, configuration, data migration, and go-live execution.
  • Drive workflow standardization across practices for scheduling, billing, clinical documentation, and RCM processes.
  • Lead optimization initiatives to improve system usability, reduce operational friction, and enhance revenue cycle performance.
Support & Maintenance
  • Establish and manage tiered support models, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and proactive problem management.
  • Maintain application reliability through release management, patching, and performance tuning.
  • Implement governance for configuration standards, security, and compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2).
  • Oversee integrations between PMS and ancillary systems (imaging, patient engagement, clearinghouses, payments, analytics).
  • Ensure data integrity and availability for reporting and BI; collaborate with Data & Analytics teams on KPIs and dashboards.
  • Build and lead a high-performing Application Management team (engineers,trainers,analysts, administrators).
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
  • Mentor team members and develop succession plans for critical roles.
Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance ITapplication management,support,and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the developmentand maintenance ofdocumentation for systems, procedures, and policies.
  • Act as primary liaison with PMS vendors and technology partners; negotiate contracts and influence product roadmaps.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business needs.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • 10+ yearsin healthcare IT, with 5+ years in leadership roles managing enterprise applications.
  • Proven experience implementing and optimizingDenticon, Cloud 9, DSN Cloud or similar PMS platforms.
  • Strong understanding of dental operations and RCM workflows, including EDI transactions (270/271, 837D, 835).
  • Expertise in SaaS application management, integrations (APIs, middleware), and data governance.
  • Experience with ancillary dental technologies (imaging, patient engagement, clearinghouses).
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-site rollouts, technology pilots, and transformational projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge ofsecurity and compliance standards(HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST).
  • Detail orientated and comfortable working a fast-paced office environment
  • Excellent oral communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Desire and ability to learn new skills and be a team player
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field;Master’s degreepreferred.
  • Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Network+/Security+, or PMPpreferred
  • Previous experience supporting doctors’ offices and/or dental practicesstronglypreferred
  • Familiarity with ITIL, project management methodologies (PMP, Agile), and change management frameworks (Prosci)preferred.
