Job summary

STS Technical Services is seeking a Director of Aircraft Maintenance Operations in Oscoda, Michigan to lead engine maintenance, production and materials activities. You will oversee daily operations, coordinate planning, staffing and training across multiple teams while ensuring FAA compliance and safety standards.

The role requires extensive aircraft engine maintenance experience and strong operational leadership to deliver high-quality results and on-time performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 10 years of aircraft engine maintenance experience.
• FAA A&P or Powerplant certification required.
• Five+ years supervisory experience in inspection/production ops.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily engine maintenance, production, stockroom and materials departments.
• Lead and support department personnel through training and staffing activities.
• Coordinate maintenance and production planning to meet delivery goals.
• Ensure staffing, equipment and materials support operations.
• Drive continuous improvement in quality, safety, cost, productivity and on-time delivery.
• Maintain maintenance documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor engine and component repair progress.
• Track work-in-process status and cycle times.
• Monitor financial performance related to operations.
• Communicate repair status and labor hours with customers.
• Participate in hiring, evaluations, training and disciplinary actions.
