VIDA Diagnostics, Inc. is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead a high-performing team behind the VIDA Intelligence Platform, VIDA Biobank, and AI orchestration engine. This player-coach role blends leadership with hands-on technical contributions and strong project execution.

The Director will guide architecture, code reviews, and delivery discipline while scaling AI-enabled workflows, cloud services, data movement, and production reliability across VIDA’s platforms.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with cloud-native systems.
• 5+ years in leadership, mentoring, and team accountability.
• Proven ability to improve planning, decision-making, and delivery discipline.
• Experience guiding complex initiatives from concept to production.
• Background with cloud-native platforms, distributed services, and AI/ML workloads.
• Strong ability to review designs, guide tradeoffs, and coach engineers.
• Experience in regulated, security-conscious enterprise SaaS environments.
• Experience partnering with Product, QA, Security, Compliance, Data Science, Customer Success.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop software engineers and tech leads, focusing on quality and ownership.
• Stay hands-on through architecture discussions, code reviews, and debugging support.
• Drive engineering initiatives from scope to production with risk and milestone tracking.
• Improve team speed and accountability through planning, sprint execution, and handoffs.
• Guide VIDA AI orchestration and cloud platform capabilities, including workflow coordination and data movement.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, QA, Security, Compliance, Data Science, and Customer Success.
• Champion responsible AI development practices with security, privacy, and maintainability in mind.
• Balance speed with compliance and reliability in a regulated SaaS context.
