Job summary

Rubbercraft in Long Beach, CA seeks a Director of Product and Process Engineering & Development to lead product design, process development, and innovation across aerospace elastomer components. You will manage a team of engineers and partner with Business Development, Operations, and NPI to turn new concepts into production.

Qualifications include 15+ years in aerospace engineering with 5+ years in leadership, plus 5+ years in rubber molding and GD&T expertise.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in aerospace manufacturing, product design, or engineering.
• 5+ years in a leadership role in aerospace.
• 5+ years in aerospace rubber molding, including molding tool design and improvements to vulcanization, deflashing, and trimming.
• 5+ years applying GD&T principles to molding tools and rubber products.
• 3+ years developing engineering testing and qualification procedures.
• 3+ years preparing and developing Critical Design Reviews (CDRs).
• 3+ years conducting technical discussions and presentations with OEM engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of innovative products, materials, and processes to meet customer requirements and drive growth.
• Drive IP creation, including trade secrets and patents, for new products and processes.
• Serve as SME in product and process technology and share knowledge across the organization.
• Mentor and develop a team of engineers to maintain a high-performing environment.
• Oversee day-to-day engineering activities: design, tooling, fixtures, process improvements, problem-solving.
• Partner with Business Development to support new opportunities and customer engagements.
• Collaborate with customer engineering teams to develop innovative solutions leveraging IP.
• Lead CDR preparation and review for advanced rubber and silicone products.
