Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a Director of Engineering for its Tampa Castings facility to lead the engineering organization across production and process engineering, tooling, NPI, and automation initiatives. You will guide a team of about 40 engineers, driving capacity expansion, yield improvements, and talent development while upholding safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/material/metallurgical engineering or related field.
10+ years of progressive engineering leadership in aerospace/manufacturing.
Experience with aerospace investment casting processes (core, wax, shell, casting, finishing).
Knowledge of equiax, DS, and SX casting technologies.
Proven record leading large multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Lead site engineering functions including production, process engineering, tooling, and NPI.
Develop and execute engineering strategy for growth, capacity, and operational excellence.
Drive automation initiatives (robots, CNC integration, digital manufacturing).
Oversee digital-thread initiatives, PLM data, and risk-based decision making.
Collaborate with Operations, Quality, EHS, and HR to hit site objectives.
Improve yield, reduce scrap, and drive process improvements across casting ops.
Develop talent, succession planning, and strategic hiring for the engineering org.
Manage capital projects and prioritization of automation and tooling investments.
