The activity director will have experience working with individuals with dementia, a highly enthusiastic personality, and be able to develop creative activities for our residents. The role includes developing and coordinating a monthly program of events, establishing community contacts, recruiting volunteers, managing staff and volunteers,

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with dementia.
• Two years of related experience.
• A college degree strongly preferred.

• Develops, maintains, and coordinates a monthly program of events and programs.
• Establishes and maintains contacts with community organizations, churches, colleges, universities, and other resources for program development.
• Recruits, plans and manages volunteer opportunities for the community.
• Manages, trains, and develops staff and volunteers.
• Makes marketing presentations for community outreach efforts.
• Works with marketing to assist in planning community/resident events.
• Coordinates community outings to special events and lectures for an active resident lifestyle.
• One-to-one activities using interpersonal needs to meet resident/client needs.
• Projects a positive image of the organization in dealings with residents/clients, co-workers, and the public.
