Job summary

Maple Crest Health Center in Omaha, NE is seeking a Director of Activities and Lifestyle to plan, coordinate, and lead programs that enhance residents’ spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social, and physical well-being.

This full-time role offers $26.00–$28.00 per hour with consideration for verified experience, plus comprehensive benefits and an opportunity to collaborate with volunteers, community partners, and care teams to create meaningful experiences for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in activity programming within a long-term care or assisted living setting.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and lead activities for residents' well-being.
• Develop programs and events engaging residents, families, staff, and partners.
• Create and oversee monthly calendars, newsletters, and materials.
• Build relationships with volunteers and community partners.
• Coach, mentor, and supervise Activities and Lifestyle staff.
• Coordinate with nursing, dining, and other departments to support engagement.
• Oversee activity care plans and evaluate resident participation.
• Manage budgeting, staffing, purchasing, and resources.
• Maintain documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Protect residents' dignity, privacy, and independence.

What you'll do:

• Plan, coordinate, and lead a variety of engaging activities that support residents' spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social, and physical well-being
• Develop creative programs, themed events, and community-wide celebrations that bring residents, families, staff, and community partners together
• Create and oversee monthly activity calendars, newsletters, and promotional materials
• Build relationships with volunteers, community organizations, performers, and other programming partners
• Coach, mentor, and supervise Activities and Lifestyle staff
• Coordinate with nursing, dining, marketing, spiritual services, and other departments to support resident engagement
• Oversee individualized activity care plans and evaluate resident participation and progress
• Manage departmental budgeting, staffing, purchasing, and resource allocation
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure programming meets applicable state and federal regulations
• Protect residents' dignity, privacy, and independence in all activities and interactions

What you'll need:

• Knowledge of Nebraska state regulations for long-term care facilities
