Job summary

Judge Direct Placement is seeking a Local Director of Accounting in Plano, TX to lead all aspects of the accounting function on site and drive financial strategy with a hands-on, collaborative approach. The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, ethics, and a proven ability to mentor staff.

You will oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, financial statements, policy development, and internal controls while optimizing ERP and financial systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; CPA preferred is a plus.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Maintain and optimize accounting processes, policies, and procedures.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members.
• Oversee daily operations of the accounting function and assign work priorities.
• Drive automation, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure effective use of ERP and financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to strengthen financial governance and support audit readiness.
• Manage and develop the accounting team, overseeing daily operations, setting priorities, and ensuring efficient execution of departmental objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement through process optimization, automation initiatives, and effective utilization of ERP and financial systems.
• Partner with organizational leaders to analyze financial results, provide strategic guidance, translate financial data into actionable business insights, and support growth initiatives and key investments.
