Job summary

The Louisiana Special School District is seeking a Director for Accessible Educational Materials Services (AEMS). This role oversees statewide acquisition, production, and distribution of accessible materials for students, and leads a staff across multiple agencies.

You will report to the Superintendent, oversee compliance, budgets, and stakeholder engagement, and guide strategic initiatives to improve access to instructional materials for students who are blind or visually impaired.

Qualifications

  • Leadership and strategic planning experience in educational programs.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Experience managing complex budgets and supervising professional staff.
  • Ability to lead statewide programs and collaborations with diverse partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership for Louisiana's Accessible Educational Materials Services program.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve access to accessible instructional materials.
  • Advise Superintendent on statewide services, accessibility initiatives, and federal program compliance.
  • Develop long-range plans, goals, and performance measures for the division.
  • Oversee operations, policy development, and quality assurance for efficient services.
