Now we need the academic architect who will elevate this model to its next evolution.

This role demands someone who has stood at education's frontlines, championed evidence-based innovation, and can point to concrete results that validate their approach. You're not just comfortable challenging educational orthodoxy—you've built alternatives that work better and can articulate why.

As our academic cornerstone, you'll translate cutting-edge learning science into operational excellence across diverse school environments. You won't be theorizing from an ivory tower; you'll be embedding yourself in the messy reality of educational transformation, setting standards, coaching leaders, and becoming the authoritative voice of a movement that's redefining what's possible in education.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Architecting practical frameworks that bridge learning science theory and day-to-day implementation in curriculum design, student motivation systems, and educational technology
  • Orchestrating rigorous academic performance reviews with Heads of Academics, ensuring alignment, accountability, and measurable student achievement
  • Conducting comprehensive ecosystem analyses that integrate quantitative data with qualitative insights to identify critical barriers to learning acceleration
  • Spearheading strategic coherence through structured planning processes, robust feedback mechanisms, and disciplined milestone tracking
  • Serving as our academic ambassador on global stages—from conference keynotes to ministerial briefings—catalyzing broader educational system change

  • Generating theoretical research without direct application to student outcomes or operational excellence
  • Outsourcing accountability for performance to subordinates or external consultants

Director Of Academic Excellence Key Responsibilities

Champion and scale our revolutionary academic model by harmonizing implementation across diverse school environments, elevating leadership capabilities, and becoming the compelling public voice of an educational movement founded on scientific rigor and demonstrated success.

Basic Requirements

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design or related discipline
  • Minimum 7 years spearheading academic or EdTech initiatives with documented exceptional learning outcomes
  • Demonstrated success integrating AI or advanced technology to enhance learning velocity
  • Established thought leadership portfolio including media appearances, keynote presentations, publications, or advisory roles
  • Exceptional talent management capabilities with proven ability to uphold rigorous standards among high-performing peers
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis for learning diagnostics and targeted intervention design
  • Demonstrated comfort and effectiveness in direct engagement with educational stakeholders across all levels

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Entrepreneurial experience founding or directing an innovative educational model, experimental school, or high-impact EdTech venture
  • Proven ability to navigate complex cultural, political, or international educational environments
  • Specialized knowledge of Bloom's 2 Sigma research and contemporary mastery learning methodologies

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
