Make a Difference The Director of Nursing for Hospice coordinates the provision of care through an interdisciplinary team for patients served by our Medicare certified program. This engaging leader is focused on elevating the nursing team as hospice specialists through implementing end‑of‑life best practices and nursing standards for exceptional care. The Director will promote Community Health Network’s PRIIDE values to ensure excellent patient care and experience, interdisciplinary dedication to strategic mission outcomes, quality metrics improvement, and empower the team to achieve the program’s goals. This results‑driven candidate oversees compliance with federal and state regulations and laws, accreditation standards and agency policy and procedures. Accountable for safety and management of risk, this role works closely with education, quality and the Executive Director around any compliance or liability issues. Inspired by this purposeful and meaningful work, the Director of Nursing plays a key role in the growth of the agency that is supported by the business unit.

Qualifications

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Must be a Bachelor’s in nursing if starting without a Master’s degree in nursing.
  • Master’s degree required within five years of hire.
  • Five (5) or more years of nursing experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of progressive management / leadership experience required.
  • Current Indiana Registered Nurse License required.
  • Certification in relevant specialty or nursing administration required within three (3) years of hire.
  • Ability to collaborate and build effective relationships.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization verbally, in writing, and through technology such as dashboards and PowerPoints.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Independently resolve problems, plan strategically, and think creatively and critically.
  • Gain and use knowledge of best practices, processes, laws, regulations, tools, and software within the subject matter area of this position.
