Job summary

Covetrus, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director for North America Facilities to oversee all US locations, including offices, distribution centers, and call centers.

You will manage maintenance, tenant relations, and project execution while coordinating with IT and HR to ensure timely, within-scope delivery and budget adherence. This role requires extensive experience in facilities/real estate management and strong client-facing communication, with a focus on strategic planning and cost control.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of related facilities & real estate management experience (or 12+ with a master’s).
  • Experience managing tenants with property managers and landlords.
  • Proven experience in project management and budget management.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; detail-oriented and organized.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead NA office portfolio with site leaders and office managers.
  • Coordinate maintenance programs for each location.
  • Manage relationships with landlords and property managers.
  • Oversee sublet tenant arrangements and related contracts.
  • Support IT & HR in project execution and vendor coordination.
  • Define project scope, schedule, and budget with stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans and monitor progress.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope and cost.

Summary

The Director, North America Facilities oversees all US based Covetrus locations. This includes offices, distribution centers, call centers and off-site storage. Facilities management includes oversight of all facilities related operations such as janitorial, engineering, food & beverage, and repairs & maintenance. Oversight includes property management and tenant contacts. In addition, this position will assist local management for facility related projects including construction, remodel, design, relocations, etc. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project. Work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. Coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage and partner with Site Leaders and/or Office Managers providing leadership and knowledge to sustain consistencies across the NA office portfolio.
  • Ensure and coordinate maintenance programs for each location.
  • Relationship Manager engaged with our preferred real estate broker
  • Maintain list of all landlords and their property management contacts.
  • Supervise the agreements and relationships with sublet tenants.
  • Assist operations leaders with innovation technology and design projects.
  • Coordinate internal resources (IT & HR) and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalation to management as needed.
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
  • Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs.
  • Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area within the company.
  • Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Typically requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 12 years and a master’s degree; or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years Facilities & Real Estate Management experience.
  • Experience managing tenants engaging with property managers and land lords.
  • Proven experience in project management.
  • Budget management experience and proven ability to drive decisions guided by functional strategies and priorities.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • 20% travel.

Compensation

Salary may vary depending on factors such as confirmed job-related skills, experience, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case. Sales Positions are eligible for a Variable Incentive. The pay range for this position is as follows: $126,200-$180,300
