Job summary
Sharps Medical Waste Services, the nation's leading independent medical waste provider, seeks a Director of Hazardous Waste Operations to lead and grow our nationwide program. You will shape operating strategies, oversee multi-market field teams, and partner with EH&S, Transportation, and Finance to deliver safe, compliant, and profitable services.
The role requires deep RCRA and DOT regulatory knowledge, 10+ years of operations leadership, and a track record of scaling hazardous waste
Qualifications
- Direct hazardous waste experience with RCRA- and DOT-regulated waste.
- 10+ years leadership in operations, with at least 5 years in hazardous waste (RCRA/DOT) operations.
- Strong knowledge of RCRA, DOT, and EPA regulations.
- Experience leading remote, multi-site field operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead hazardous waste operations across the organization, including on-site hospital programs and regional services.
- Develop scalable national operating models, SOPs, staffing strategies and performance metrics.
- Drive operational performance with focus on safety, route efficiency, profitability, and compliance.
- Promote a strong safety culture and build a high-performing hazardous waste operations team.
