Summary

The Director National Accounts will proactively create and identify strategies to support opportunities and generation of data/information to expand the value proposition for Pacira products. This individual will lead discussions with National executive leaders in post-surgical pain management, focused on deploying tactics which are customized to resolve the customer’s unmet needs. The Director will align the team to function as a liaison for external stakeholders, including but not limited to GPOs, IDNs/Health Systems, ASC chains, new business opportunities, and key customers as it relates to strategic initiatives to provide leadership integrating support for the value proposition of Pacira products. The role will also be responsible for executing customer contracts, contracting strategy and contract management.

Director National Accounts will serve as the relationship owner for GPOs, large IDNs and systems. External relationships include but are not limited to executives and Health System Leaders, GPO partners, and Pharmacy leaders. Key internal relationships: Executive Team, Marketing, Sales, Operations/Trade, Finance, Medical Affairs, and Market Access.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Deliver value-based platforms to key customers with project management including budgetary accountability.
  • Responsible for key contracting, tracking and maintenance of contracts in geography.
  • Develop engagement strategy and account plans with target IDNs, GPOs, and ASC Chains.
  • Assigned project management for strategic initiatives within Pacira Biosciences.
  • Establish platform for KOL engagement within key corporate segment.
  • Develop and execute programs for executives and physician leaders.
  • Responsible for tracking projects and the metrics associated.
  • Establish collaborative support for medical team to meet customer needs, including but not limited to workshops, preceptorships, peer-peer education.
  • Collaborate with executive team on annual planning and brand strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Market Access, Sales, Marketing, Compliance, Legal, Ops, and Trade to ensure open lines of communication and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Establish and maintain functional working relationships with selected key corporate customer segments to further partnership, strengthen brand awareness, and develop new business opportunities.
  • Develop and present product portfolio updates to customers as requested using approved material.
  • Ensure effective administrative management of regional and national business as well as operational budgets.
  • Position requires at least 60 – 75 % travel.
  • Adhere to relevant compliance, government, and reporting standards.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in health science or closely related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in account management for IDNs, GPOs and GPO aggregate accounts including deep knowledge of key IDN accounts and existing relationships at top IDNs.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in servicing hospital personnel on a product used in a specialty area: e.g., general surgery, orthopedic surgery, anesthesia, operating room, or pain management.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in KOL engagement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with executives, sales and health care professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate working knowledge of hospital systems including pharmacy, surgical services (pre-operative, intraoperative and postsurgical care), supply chain, and c-suite.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach others on use of products and clinical applications, including physicians, nurses and other health care providers.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a closely collaborative, cross-functional team.
  • Demonstrated successful project management experience.
  • Ability to travel swiftly and frequently (up to 75% travel throughout the year) with overnight stays. Close proximity to an airport is preferred.

Pay Transparency

The base pay range for this role in California is $171,000 annually to $235,000 annually. The range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. The range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: geographic markets, business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications.
