Job summary

Columbia University Irving Medical Center invites applications for a faculty position as Director, MRI Research. Open across all ranks, with an option for a tenure‑track appointment based on qualifications and trajectory. We seek a visionary leader to advance biomedical imaging, including acquisition, reconstruction, biomarkers, AI, and multi‑modal imaging.

Collaboration with industry and departments is encouraged. Salary range is $150,000 to $350,000.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of independent investigation experience is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain an independent and/or collaborative MRI research program.
• Leverage Columbia's state‑of‑the‑art MRI systems for advanced research.
• Partner with industry to drive translational MRI advancements.
• Collaborate across Columbia, including Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Informatics, Public Health, and HICCC.
• Utilize informatics, EHRs, and multi‑omics data in imaging research.
• Teach and mentor students, residents, fellows, and postdocs.
• Drive MRI‑focused research initiatives across the department and campus.
