Director, ML/AI, Analytics, Platforms & Solutions

Join to apply for the Director, ML/AI, Analytics, Platforms & Solutions role at BMO U.S.

This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, reporting directly to the Managing Director of CRM and Data Analytics. This opportunity is open only to US citizens and authorized residents living in the Chicago area.

This person will oversee the development and advancement of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and analytics capabilities and solutions. They will leverage data assets, establish frameworks, and adopt emerging technologies both on cloud and on-premises. Understanding data quality requirements and identifying improvements to support AI/ML/Analytics is essential.

The role also involves overseeing the development of best practices and tooling to develop and operate solutions securely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities

• Typically, 10+ years of relevant experience with a post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ideally 5 years of experience within Financial Services.
• Technical leader recognized as a thought leader in innovation, proficient in ML and AI.
• Proven success in building and maintaining teams in leadership roles.
• Experience defining and leading large-scale projects.
• Fosters a culture aligned with BMO's purpose, values, and strategy, modeling BMO's values and behaviors.
• Ensures alignment between values and behavior, promoting diversity and inclusion.
• Connects work to BMO’s purpose, sets inspirational goals, defines clear outcomes, and ensures accountability.

• Programming languages: R, Python, Scala, Sagemaker, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and others.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing machine learning models.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML fundamentals and current trends, including libraries and tools.
• Experience building feature stores and AutoML capabilities.
• Relevant certifications in AWS/Azure.
• Experience designing architecture on AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments.
• Provides expertise on banking industry trends, regulations, and best practices to inform leadership decisions.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including technical and business units, to deliver solutions.
• Stays updated on emerging technologies, market trends, and regulatory changes affecting banking to provide proactive solutions.
• Experience with modern databases, cloud environments, and data ecosystems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and influence skills.
• Data-driven decision-making capabilities.
• Highly motivated to learn, research, and share knowledge and ideas.

Salary: $140,800.00 - $261,800.00

Pay Type: Salaried
