Job summary

Henderson Building Solutions seeks a Director Mission Critical Commissioning to build and lead its data center commissioning practice as the business grows. This role oversees a team of commissioning agents across levels 1–5, and develops testing standards, proposals, and pricing for clients.

The Director shapes the practice, manages backlog, and ensures on‑time, on‑budget delivery; serves as the technical authority. Travel up to 25% and a hands‑on leadership style align with Henderson's culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required; relevant leadership experience may offset education.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in leadership/management roles.
• History of building strong teams to improve client experience and drive business results.
• Proven track record engaging with clients and maintaining relationships over time.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve measurable results based on client satisfaction.
• Demonstrated understanding and participation in professional networks in the AEC industry.
• Proficiency in core competencies described in this job description.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operational areas of commissioning within the mission critical unit through direct supervision of commissioning personnel.
• Assist leadership to procure opportunities aligning with the mission critical strategy.
• Lead communication and collaboration to ensure consistency across projects.
• Assess staffing and resources for mission critical commissioning with VP input.
• Implement process changes to improve client experience and align with strategies.
• Strategize technical needs to develop tools and procedures for the practice.
