Job summary
ICON, a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation, is seeking aDirector, Medical & Scientific Affairs - Metabolic Disease Imaging to lead scientific strategy for imaging endpoints in metabolic diseases. This remote US role partners with cross-functional teams to shape study design and drive innovation across trials.
The successful candidate will hold a PhD, have deep experience in imaging biomarkers and metabolic diseases, and guide sponsors and internal teams through
Qualifications
- PhD required in a relevant scientific or technical discipline.
- Significant experience in pharmaceutical/biotech clinical trials.
- Direct experience with imaging studies and imaging biomarkers in metabolic diseases.
- Deep understanding of imaging biomarker development and trial design.
- Willingness to travel ~10% domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Provide scientific and medical imaging expertise across teams and trials.
- Serve as subject matter expert for sponsors, supporting study design and imaging endpoints.
- Lead imaging components for MASH, obesity, and metabolic disease trials.
- Advise on imaging biomarkers and quantitative analysis applications.
- Oversee imaging charters, manuals, and study reports for quality.
- Represent ICON at conferences and drive thought leadership.
