Job summary

The University of Washington seeks a Director of Merchant Services within FPB to lead payment acceptance, merchant services operations, and PCI DSS compliance across academic, healthcare, administrative, and research activities.

Reporting to the Vice President of UBS, you will develop policies, governance, and risk management controls, partnering with IT, finance, procurement, and internal audit to drive innovative payment solutions while safeguarding data and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and five or more years of merchant services/financial operations experience including PCI-DSS
• Experience leading enterprise-wide programs and managing professional staff
• Professional certifications such as CTP, PCIP, CISA, CISM, PMP or similar are preferred

Responsibilities

• Strategy Development: shape the long-term vision for enterprise merchant services across the university.
• Leadership/Program Management: oversee governance, risk management, and cross-functional execution.
• Administration: ensure compliant, secure payment processing and policy implementation across departments.
